Doug Scott sworn in as WBA President for 2009

WBA PresidentOn February 7, 2008 at the Grand Geneva Resort, Doug Scott, owner of Amwood Homes was sworn in as Wisconsin Builders Association President for 2009.The Wisconsin Builders Association is an organization of more than 7,000 members committed to preserving and promoting the American dream of home ownership by working for quality, safe and affordable housing in Wisconsin. Mr. Scott will lead the members of 25 local associations with representation in 63 of Wisconsin's 72 counties.

Mr. Scott has been a long time businessman in the Janesville community. His company expanded in 2004 with the acquisition of the assets of Windsor Homes in Madison. Mr. Scott also continued in the general contracting business since starting Advantage Homes in 1991.

Advantage Homes has been a member of the South Central Wisconsin Home Builders Association since 1991. Doug has held a number of committee chair positions as well as President of the South Central Wisconsin Home Builders in 1994. He also has been a trustee of Building a Better Wisconsin since 1996 and is now a Life Trustee as well as a Life Director of the WBA.

Doug Scott's goal for the next year is to focus on spreading the word to builders and associate businesses involved in the building industry of the great value in membership that our association brings to Wisconsin Builders. The WBA is a powerful voice in the industry for pro-housing legislation, and networking and education which is critical for today's builders and being a member of Wisconsin Builders Association will help anyone grow and sustain their business.
